Raised in carlsbad
I have lived in Carlsbad for over 20 years and have seen it grow to the beautiful and vibrant town it is today. I attended Aviara Oaks Elementary and Middle School and graduated from Carlsbad High School. Carlsbad has taught me and continues to teach me what it means to be part of a community. From a young age, I volunteered at the local libraries, hospitals, and beaches, and still do.
Learning to Lead
After receiving my undergraduate degree at UCSD, I completed my Master's degree in public health at USC, and my Doctorate in Public Health at Loma Linda University. As a health professional and businesswoman, I have executed on and managed multi-million dollar contracts and have created lasting health initiatives with healthcare agencies, biotech companies, San Diego County, the State of California, and the United Nations.
I wanted to give back to Carlsbad since it has given me so much. I decided that the best way to do this would be to represent District 3 on Carlsbad City Council.
I live just a few blocks away from Batiquitos Lagoon with my husband and our rescue dog, who is a border collie/retriever mix. We all love the outdoors, so you may frequently find us walking, hiking, biking, running, off-roading, rock climbing, and participating in other outdoor activities. Kishmish enjoys going to the dog park at Alga Norte Park!
I would love to hear from you about why you love Carlsbad, and what we can do together to make it even better. If you would like to talk, please send me an email. Or, if you see my husband and me with our dog, please feel free to say hi!
